5 Morning Habits Destroying the Energy of a Person

As I got promoted out of the school, my morning routine was shaken and became a silent killer of energy. It was so real that I started to feel the consequences in the productivity of my entire day. Given below are these 5 morning habits draining energy and destroying happiness

Waking Up With Negative Thoughts

Manifesting positivity in the morning can help you enjoy the most of the day. Why? Because it ensures that you are starting your day with clarity and enthusiasm. Negative thoughts at the beginning of the day make you feel stressed. As a result, it will destroy your energy silently. 

Tip: Practise meditation for 10 minutes a day to release negativity and promote happiness throughout the day. 

Snoozing Alarm After Sunrise

Waking up late is another morning habit damaging health. There was a time when I used to wake up before sunrise, followed by 40 minutes of brisk walking. Believe me, I was so confident and enthusiastic during those days. But I felt lazy and more tired even after completing 8-9 hours of sleep when I used to wake up late. Hence, my experience says to avoid snoozing your alarms in the mornings. Make them better by leaving your bed before dusk. 

Tip: Choose your alarm ringtones wisely. The harsh alarm that sounds like a siren or radar can cause emotional disruption and morning stress. I usually prefer morning alarm tones with piano and nature sounds. 

Skipping the First Meal of the Day

It’s not just you, but there was a time when I skipped my morning breakfast due to hustle. And that was my morning habits destroying energy and happiness for the entire day. I used to leave my home in a rush and forget to carry my morning meal most of the time. The result? I had digestive problems like bloating and indigestion. Moreover, my productivity was reduced as the energy was sabotaged by the evening. 

Tip: Just like skipping breakfast, it is also important to have the right meal inclusive of fruits and veggies. So, make sure you choose your first meal of the day wisely. 

Prioritising Reels Over Books 

I remember this metaphor that ‘every coin has two sides.’ Although the world is drastically moving towards digitalisation and innovation, it is negatively influencing the mental health of individuals. Earlier there was a time when I used to wake up with stories of my grandmother. Today those stories were switched to Instagram Reels and other social media platforms. I threshold the time by continuous scrolling that resulted in lower productivity. 

Tip: Avoid checking your phone just after waking up, as it is one of the morning habits destroying energy. Instead, start your day with physical activity or reading books.

Having Caffeine on an Empty Stomach

It is indeed true that caffeine is the best source to wake up without snoozing. However, it is also one of the morning routine destroying energy if consumed on an empty stomach. It causes bloating and digestive issues if it is consumed without eating. I always used to pair my morning coffee with soaked mixed seeds and nuts like almonds, walnuts, papaya seeds, pumpkin seeds, and more. You can always customise it as per your taste and preference. 

Tip: Make sure that you avoid drinking coffee with citrus fruits like oranges, grapes, or mangoes, as they could cause gastrointestinal and digestive problems.

If you feel that your energy is sabotaged or feel tired, make sure you reassess your morning routine. Some morning habits destroying energy and are silent killers for your productivity. I changed some morning habits that were playing with my happiness. The result? My days and nights have finally started to improve. So, what are you waiting for?
