Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu clarified today that there is no "toilet tax" in Himachal Pradesh, addressing concerns over claims that residents would be taxed based on the number of toilet seats in their homes.
Reports had surfaced suggesting the government was planning to impose a ₹ 25 fee for each toilet seat in urban households, with rumors further alleging a 25 percent "toilet tax" on top of the ₹ 100 water charge. Mr. Sukhu dismissed these claims as "baseless."
